European Sovereignty
Sovereign AI Agents: What You Can Answer When Asked
European AI sovereignty is often sold as a compliance tier: a data-residency clause added to a service run from somewhere else, a promise one party makes and the other hopes will hold. For a company handing real work to AI agents, that is not enough. Sovereignty is worth what you can answer when someone asks.
What sovereignty should give you
Three answers have to be true at the same time. Your data rests under European jurisdiction. The company operating the service answers to European regulators. And nothing leaves for a third party, model providers included, unless you have allowed it, in a setting you can see and change.
Any one of those without the other two is a claim, not sovereignty. A non-European provider with a European region gives you the first but not the second: the operating company still answers to its own home law, wherever the data rests. A European operator that depends on a service it does not control gives you the second but not the third. Neither holds up on the day the question turns adversarial.
Why it matters more with agents
A classic business application processes what you hand it: invoices, customer records, support tickets. An agent goes further on your behalf. It reads your CRM, your ERP, your documents and your messages, and writes results back. Every one of those reaches is data on the move.
So the question a regulator, an auditor or a works council will ask is simple: where did this record go, under whose law, and who saw it? With agents at work, you need to be able to answer it for every task, not just in principle.
What Myrmid guarantees
- European ground. Myrmid runs on European public cloud, under European law, operated by a European company.
- No training on your data. The model providers we work with are bound in writing never to train on it, and they keep none of your prompts or answers.
- Nothing leaves without your say. What your agents may reach, and which models and providers they may use, are settings in Cockpit. You can see them, change them, and see who changed them.
- An answer when you are asked. Every action is on a record nobody can quietly change, so you can show where a record went and why.
What sovereignty buys you
Sovereignty is not a moral claim. It is a reduction in risk you can show. When a regulator asks where a customer record went, you can answer. When an audit needs the trail, you have it. When a vendor changes its terms, your data does not move, because you did not move.
